My Trim Healthy Mama Story

I have been in the health and fitness business for over 25 years as a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritional Counselor. In 1999 I met Serene and Pearl, and we hit it off immediately. Before long, we were sharing our latest and greatest health discoveries with each other. These shared ideas led to quality family time, which developed into years of friendship, fellowship, and developing health paradigms. After a day on their couch hearing about their new revelation and studies regarding the THM principals, I was all in.

Before THM, I tried everything: low carb, raw, Nourishing Traditions, and extreme diets. All this in an effort to maintain a healthy weight for myself and to help my clients achieve their goals. Suffering from adrenal fatigue, Hashimoto’s, gut issues, and more had become a way of life. Thankfully, by implementing the THM principals, I climbed out of the pit of sickness and yo-yo dieting, and achieved lasting health. The program has also improved the success rate for personal training clients, and they are seeing results like never before. In 2014 I approached Serene and Pearl about creating a coaching program so that anyone could receive expert help to work the plan. We immediately started the process of developing the THM Certified Coaching Program, and it launched 4 years later.

For over 8 years I have remained on-plan, and have experienced vibrant health, food freedom, and the ability to maintain my weight after 10 pregnancies.

I am passionate about using my coaching experience to help others learn about THM, implement the plan to lose weight, and find food freedom. And as the THM Head Coach, I also enjoy supporting and championing the other Certified THM coaches.

The Trim Healthy Mama (THM) approach is centered around low-glycemic eating: eating food that doesn’t spike your blood sugar.

The THM Basics:

  1. Anchor every meal/snack with protein
  2. Cut out flour and sugar and replace with plan friendly sweeteners and flours
  3. Eat from all the food groups
  4. Eat every 3-4 hours
  5. Separate fuels - alternate a high carb meal and a high-fat meal
    1. Do eat fats with protein
    2. Do eat carbs with protein
    3. Do NOT eat carbs with fats
  6. Choose whole food sources



Trim Healthy Mama is a “doable” and “transformational” approach to weight loss. It is a plan written by two of my good friends who were “done” with diets and fads which led them to mine-out what really works to be healthy and achieve desired weight without all the rigid rules and restrictions.
